About Me

I’m Owen and I develop & market websites. So if you need an informational or e-commerce website for your business, or help with SEO & PPC for an existing website, I can help.

I’m also into my music, Linux, technology, real ale, coffee and games.

A big fan of music, I try to listen to a bit of everything – Rock, Metal, Reggae, Hip-Hop, Jazz & Electronic. My favourite artists include Nirvana, Soundgarden, Metallica, Bob Marley, Damien Marley, Supertramp, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Rage Against The Machine, Tool, A perfect circle, Slipknot, The Eagles, The Deftones, The Clash, Eminem, Dr Dre, Snoop Dogg, Miles Davis, and more and more..

I also play guitar (reasonably well), drums (not at all well) and keys (I pretend)! I’ve been in various bands and done stints of sound engineering – for fun, not sure why sometimes!

I got into Linux as it was ‘something different’ and a bit of a challenge – it also supports my interest in web technologies. I’ve experience with Ubuntu, Linux Mint & Fedora. I like the availability of free/open source software – I can try out alternatives to very expensive propiatary choices. I like using the command line to feel über geeky!

Real Ale

I discovered real ale in college and never looked back. The availability of choice, tastes and funny names draws me in! My all time favourite brewery is Saltaire – to my mind they’ve never made a bad beer. Plus – they’re Yorkshire based.

When  I went to the states i discovered that not all American
beers are bland, fizzy and yellow. There’s a nice craft beer scene, especially in California – favourites being Stone Brewing co & the Green Flash brewing co.

Strong Turkish Coffee

Nothing gets done without a decent dose of coffee. I don’t know enough to be snob, but I’m getting there. Leeds based Bottega Milanese are the best – I recommend a double espresso macciato (that’s espresso not expresso! – unless you’re talking about Dire Straits – Expresso Love, which is okay).

NES cartsGTA V
I’m not a gamer gamer but I do like my games. I started with Mario on the NES and Sonic on the mega drive and progressed to the Saturn (remember that?), Gamecube, Playstation and Wii. My favourite games include Super Mario Galaxy (1 & 2), GTAIV, Assassains Creed Revelations and I spent hours upon hours on multi player Goldeneye Wii.
